With access to the astounding River Yealm, The Swan Inn is the perfect spot to replenish after spending the day on the water or walking round the many local coastal paths. The Swan Inn is a beautiful Georgian building dating back to the 1850's and has recently undertaken a facelift inside, merging a new and contemporary style with the classic architectural features.
With a new team in place we aim to provide a glorious experience for all who visit. Inviting old, young, friends, families and of course dogs, we hope you all have a pleasurable time.
Take a look at our menus to find a whole selection of pub favourites and light bites that you're sure to enjoy.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Swan Inn!
We love enjoying a get together with locals and visitors alike. From live music to karaoke to theme parties or curry nights, there's lots happening at this gorgeous riverside pub.
Stopped off for lunch after a cliff top walk. Staff were friendly but it was extremely busy and every table was reserved so ended up sitting outside. Not a problem as the weather was OK, and the business is a testament to their popularity. One good thing, they looked to allow dogs in the bar area. Parking would be an issue if driving there. Overall no complaints regarding the quality of the foid and it is worth stopping off at if passing by.
The other pub was full so walked across the the estuary as tide was out to The Swan. And really pleased we did. Traditional pub with cheerful hosts. Relaxing place for midway break on our coastal hike enjoying winter sun after freezing start. Serene coastal views and charming village. Adnams Ghost what a well kept beer. Sunday roast top notch. Excellent parsnips. You know when they keep and make sure everything is ok, and in jesting reply "yep oh and I'll have some more of those excellent roasted parsnips" - you don't expect to receive two more on a platter, do you? As the waitress said if you don't ask you don't get. It summed up a great experience of fun and very good food. Very good coffee to round it off before back on the journey. Well worth a visit. But as its not so big not sure letting you know it is so good is a good idea!
I have to say although the Ship Inn is all swanky to all, having been abruptly informed you can't eat here as you haven't booked didn't really do it for me today. Anyway no worries had a wee half then off to the Swann Inn,great little friendly pub with a lovely log fire... Excellent range of beers,The Ghost Ship from Addams was bang on,customers great with fantastic home made well done chips.... Go for it.
